Byker Primary School Staffing Structure

In March 2024, the Governing Body took the decision to develop the Leadership team and carried out a restructure to create capacity for Rapid School Development.  This resulted in the creation of 3 new roles:

• Deputy Headteacher
• Assistant Headteacher for Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Assistant Headteacher for Key Stage 1. 

All staff could internally apply for the new roles and this was decided through an interview process.

The new roles have started with immediate affect and this has altered the format in which parent and family support for Safeguarding is carried out.

We would like the thank Mrs Catherine Brumwell-Wright for her dedication and continued service to the families of Byker in her role as Designated Safeguarding Lead. We would also like to thank Ms Sarah Falconer and Ms Stephanie Young for their work as Phase Leaders, however the Safeguarding role and Key Stage Leadership will now be taken on and developed by the new Leadership Team.
